Life can be tough and age can get us down if we don't keep a good, positive mental attitude. We all need a little shove once in a while to help lift our spirits when we get bored, drained and waned from the long journey of our aging years. You may feel down and forlorn, but you don't have to stay that way. No generation has ever been so blessed in their aging years as today. The 60's are the new 40's, the 70's the new 50's and so on and so on. I am 73 and I feel very young. I love my age. How about you?
These inspirational tips and ideas can change your outlook. They can remind you of your blessings. They can help give you the determination to keep on going. They can give you confidence, encouragement, rejuvenate you and so much more. A positive attitude is an essential element in life, success and good health.
Every evening before you retire, write down 5 things you were grateful for today. We can't expect to get out of the rut we're in if we're unappreciative and inconsiderate. When we're thankful for the things we have, the people we love and our health, our lives change dramatically for the better, and that's definitely something to be thankful for. Remember, life is an attitude!! You will find that when you change your attitude, your life will change.
Learn To Like Yourself
You have the power to create the life you want--Joyful, exhilarating, fulfilled, no matter how old you are. Your best is yet to come! Something good is going to happen to you because you like who you are, what you have done, and what you are to become. You have talents and creativity. You have done a lot of wonderful things in your life...You have an exceptional talent like no-one else has, and that talent is worthy of sharing with the world.
Discover who you really are and learn to love yourself wholly. Make a list of everything you like about yourself. List your creativity's, your talents, the generous things you do. Open up that heart and let your feelings flow. Look at your list in a month from now and you will discover that you have more to add, and that list will grow and grow and grow. It's amazing!!
Write It Down
Write down your thoughts, ideas and dreams on a tablet so you'll have a record of all the wonderful ideas you come up with.
Create A Positive Attitude
A negative attitude will shorten your life and effect everything you do. It causes anger, hate, sickness and death. We talked ourselves into having that negative attitude, so now we have to talk ourselves out of it. We told ourselves life is for the birds, that the world is cruel and wicked, that people are mean and vicious, and that there is no purpose for our lives. Now we have to turn those thoughts around. Aldous Huxdey assured us when he said, "There's only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self".
Encourage One Another & Build One Another Up
So many people in this world feel discouraged, pressed down, trapped, unworthy, unlovable, or completely overwhelmed by their circumstances. You can make a difference in one moment if you honestly and sincerely encourage them.
Every creature on this planet needs to be encouraged at one time or another. Be that person who encourages others. Let others know they are worthy, lovable, and capable. Encourage with kindness, with love, by examples, with praise, with your words.
Those who are gentle and kind and encourage others experience clear benefits to their own well-being and happiness.
Encouraging others is an act of kindness which can reduce stress, as well as improve our mood, our self-esteem, and our emotional well-being.
If you want a lifetime of happiness, help somebody, encourage them, and build them up, then your own happiness will come.
To get up each morning with the resolve to be happy is to set our own conditions to the events of each day. To do this is to condition circumstances instead of being conditioned by them. ~ Ralph Waldo Trine
Treat people as if they are what they ought to be, and you can help become what they are capable of becoming.~ Johann von Goethe
Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same. ~ Francesca Reigler
Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall ~ Confucius.
People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can't find them, make them. ~ George Bernard Shaw
Just remember, you can do anything you set your mind to, but it takes action, perseverance, and facing your fears.~ Gillian Anderson
If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion. ~ The Dalai Lama
How old would you be if you didn't know how old you were? ~ Satchel Paige
You've been given the face you have at 20. Life shapes the face you have at thirty. It is up to you to merit the face you have at fifty. ~ Coco Chanel
Do not try to live forever, you will not succeed. ~ George Bernard Shaw
Choose To Smile And Be Happy
Make yourself smile and laugh - even if you don't feel like it at the time. Laughter is good medicine, it can change your attitude and heal your entire body.
This could be discouraging, but when we know we're going to die and accept it, we can take advantage of the life we have, enjoy it as much as possible, and reap its great rewards.
Positive affirmations help us develop a good attitude, but we have to choose to want those good thoughts. I would much rather wake up in the morning with a smile on my face with a good attitude, than a scowl and a bad attitude.
When we smile, our whole body lights up and a new wonderful day begins. Good things can happen when we choose our thoughts wisely.
Make a decision to think only good thoughts today, positive thoughts. Choose to be optimistic and happy, and you will see your body, mind and life begin to change, no matter how old you are.
Food For Thought
Life offers wonderful opportunities at every turn. Keep laughing and keep wondering. Stand back and don't let the daily hassles grind you down. It's too easy to become angry and cynical. There are millions of reasons not to do things. We have to get up each day and try again. Keep searching. Stop and smell the roses. Accept. Be grateful for what you already have. Thank God. Pray. Enjoy.
