Everyone wants to be healthy and happy. The question is, what would make you happy? Would it be love, more money or fame, a good career, good health and well-being, good social relationships, feeling valued?

Are you on the quest for health and happiness? One of the easiest ways to instantly live a healthier and happier life is to start doing more of what you love!

Read on to learn the secret on how to live a healthier, happier life.

Strive To Be Optimistic

Did you know that your thoughts have a more powerful effect on your health and happiness than you may think.

Negativity is powerful, it can destroy you. Not only will negative thinking adversely affect your mental health, it can also affect your physical health as well.

Negative people are more likely to become sick than optimists.

Negative thoughts can interfere with everyday activities, interrupt sleep, slow digestion, decrease the immune system, foster headaches, chest pain, upset stomachs, fatigue, cause anxiety and/or depression, and prevent us from leading happy, healthy lives.

Start being hopeful and confident about a bright future, even when the present feels totally negative. Replace every negative thought with positive one. Look for the good and discard the bad.

Focusing on what is going right in your life, and your influence in bringing these good things about, will help you become more optimistic.

Try to enjoy the views, sounds, textures, smells, and tastes all around you, but you have overlook. Make a list of some of your favorite happy memories, then meditate on them for awhile. Embrace the feeling that comes with those happy memories.

Get outside and enjoy nature. There are so many beautiful things to see. Take in every bit of its wonders peaking through every nook and cranny, enjoy the sun kissing every part of your being.

Take the time to be mindful of all the beautiful green spaces around you and appreciate and savor its uniqueness and the fascinating landscapes that have been put here for you to enjoy.

Distance Yourself From Negative People

No matter how optimistic of a person you are, negative people can affect your life, unless you take the right precautions. Take note of the company you keep.

Research has shown that even a small amount of negativity can lead to a weak immune system, making you more prone to illness, and even lead to a heart attack or a stroke.

When around negative people, you might even second guess yourself on important decisions, feel sad, uncomfortable or depressed.

So, how do you rid yourself from negativity, and protect yourself from its harmful effects?

Say Goodby.

Don’t wait until a toxic person has brought you so down so low that you can't get back up. You need to surround yourself with people who inspire you, encourage you, lift you up, and appreciate your potential.

Did you know that bad company corrupts good manners, communications, and good morals? Don't be fooled. A negative person can destroy your self-worth and entire being.

Set boundaries and distance yourself when possible. Don’t engage every time someone frustrates you or tries to bring you into their negativity. Do not welcome toxicity.

Spend time with those who care about you and leave you feeling enlightened, peaceful, and content.

Stop Comparing Yourself To Others

Break the habit of comparing yourself to others. Everyone is unique, no two people are alike. Who you are cannot be duplicated, and you need to know that you are exceptional just the way you are. You need to embrace that.

Too much comparison leads to unhappiness and low self-esteem. We become irritated with ourselves for thinking "I'm not good enough."

If left unaddressed, chronic anxiety and depression can stem from such actions. Get in touch with yourself and write down all the good things you are able to do.

The only person you should be comparing yourself to is you. Your efforts should focus on growing from within, being kinder, more stronger and compassionate, and being more open instead of whether or not your hair is long enough or your figure isn't as good as someone else's.

Accept who you are and where you are. Take care of yourself, and be grateful that you are as unique as anyone else.

Stop Being A Victim

Blaming others and making excuses keeps us victimized. Being a victim means you have no control over your life and therefore no responsibility for what happens.

Owning your choices gives you control over your life. Owning your choices means you are responsible for the outcomes of your actions, or lack thereof.

Acknowledging that your actions and choices have a direct result on your outcome, you'll have the power to shape your life and make choices that will lead you toward a healthier and happier life. Owning your choices is fulfilling and empowering, and bring you joy and happiness.

Don't Be A People Please

Chronic people pleasers will go to great lengths to avoid conflict or the discomfort of disappointing others. They need approval from others to feel good about themselves or to fit in. They can go to extremes to hear words of praise from others. They want everyone to like them, to the detriment of their own well-being.

Appeasing others always comes with a cost. People pleasers don't get the love and respect they desire. And everyone deserves to be loved and respected. Their constant efforts can result in inner conflict and chronic stress.

Constantly seeking validation and approval from others, places your self-worth in the hands of external sources.

The best way to fight being a people pleaser is to build up what makes you feel good. If you feel good, you don't need anyone to make you feel that way. Start prioritizing your own needs, for up until now you have been disregarding your own physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

Examine if the patterns in your life are in accordance with your internal values. The more that we act by honoring our internal values, the better we typically feel.

Practice Self-Care. A healthy self-care routine done daily will help you honor your needs which can be invaluable. Taking care of yourself often allows you to see the value of setting healthier and firmer boundaries.

Know that your time and energy is valuable. Once you realize that, you will begin to see that your self-worth is not dependent on others’ approval.

Learn To Say No

Don't be afraid to say no. A simple “no” or “no thank you” will do It. won't hurt you and people will respect you for it. Ask yourself, Do I want to do this? Why am I doing this? Make sure you are staying true to your own needs and sense of integrity before giving a response. It may take practice, but you'll find it energizing and liberating.

Be true to yourself and your integrity. Quit ignoring your own needs. Realize you have a choice. Identify your priorities. Be kind, considerate, compassionate, and forgiving, but stand strong in who you are and to what your own needs are.

You deserve to be healthy and happy, and people pleasing will not afford you those delights.

Be Grateful

Genuine gratitude is an attitude and a way of life that has many benefits when it comes to health and happiness. Feeling and expressing thankfulness, instead of wanting more and more, turns our focus to the good and happy things in life. This will create additional things to be grateful for.

Each morning as you rise, give thanks for the air you breath and for being healthy and alive. Life is a precious gift, never forget that.

Conclusion

The pursuit of living healthier and Happier is not out of the realm of possibilities. It Can be your reality. However, it depends on you. Aristotle enthrones happiness as a central purpose of human life and a goal in itself. Aim for that end.

Learn to enjoy life, and when you do, you'll see blessing upon blessings coming upon you.
